cozumel

for our 4th day in mexico we took a ferry out to the island of cozumel and rented mopeds to ride around and explore the island on. seriously so fun. i've rented mopeds in hawaii before and it was one of the best days. the mopeds didn't disappoint here either.
i lived in hawaii for almost 4 years and i think it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. but the beaches in mexico made for some competition. the water was so clear and amazing.
i really loved this beach. the sand was filled with broken & full conch shells. and i'm not just talking about a few here or there. i mean the entire floor covered in conch shells. dan found a few in perfect condition but threw them back into the water. i'm surprised more people don't visit this hidden gem.
it was so nice to just hop on the moped and drive along the coast and then get off wherever we wanted. we stopped for lunch at this festive rasta restaurant on the beach, relaxed in their hammocks and then set off again.
this beach below is my all time favorite beach in the entire world.
the blue's in the ocean were brighter than any other i'd ever seen.
there were some decent sized waves to swim in, but the water was perfectly clear and there was no sand clouding the water despite the crash of the big waves. it just stayed clear. no coral, perfectly soft sand. it was the biggest mystery to all of us as to how it could be so perfect. i would visit cozumel again solely for this beach.
as the sun was setting we made it back to the port at playa del carmen and called it a night. another amazing day in paradise with my handsome man.
