February Recap

February was a busy month with two fun trips!
At the beginning of the month, I went to an open house for my friend Michael. Michael was one of my best friends in high school and we haven't seen each other in years. It was so fun to meet his wife and catch up! MarLeice and her husband flew down for it and it was so great to see her again too! I don't think I would have survived high school without MarLeice and Michael. I'm so beyond grateful for our friendships and even though we don't get to see each other as often anymore, I still consider them the best of friends and it's so fun when we're all together.
I started a new job and my coworker brought me these cute mini doughnuts after my first week! So sweet and thoughtful!
^ I started re-watching Grey's Anatomy in January, hence the dramatic scene on the tv haha
Lots of snuggles with Har-Har. He loves to lay right on top of me and it's truly the best thing in the world.
Valentines day breakfast in bed from Kenneth. We had a pretty relaxed Valentine's day and just enjoyed lots of sweets and pizza for dinner.
Harley making the funniest faces haha. Love him.
^ We watched Velzy again and Harley was in heaven!
Said goodbye to Harley (& Kenneth haha) and I went to Nashville for the weekend for my best friend's Bachelorette party. Tears were shed when saying goodbye. I'll let you take a wild guess at who I was crying over haha.
My best friend, Brittany, is getting married in March and we had her bachelorette party in Nashville. Me, Brittany and our best friend Grace, all drove together and it was so fun to spend some much needed time with them!
Britt & her mom are so creative and had the cutest bachelorette gifts!
^ How cute is this flower floor?? It was in one of the bathrooms haha
We did one of those bike pedal tours where you pedal around Nashville and see all the fun sites. It was a bit rainy that day (hence all the ponchos) but it was actually really fun. They play music as you ride around town and everyone is dancing and singing and it's just a fun time!
We saw so many brides and bachelorette parties around Nashville. I lost count there were so many haha.
It was a fun trip and I'm glad I got to know Brittany's other bridesmaids better because it'll make the wedding more fun. I definitely felt like a grandma though because I'm normally in bed by 10 and we were out till 3am every night and I don't even remember the last time I did that... except maybe when we binge watched Stranger Things 2... #PartyAnimal haha.
When I was in Nashville, Kenneth called to tell me that he threw a toy in the air and Harley & Velzy both went for it and their mouths collided. Harley cut Velzy's tongue and Velzy chipped one of Harley's teeth. They both acted totally fine but unfortunately Harley's tooth was chipped so much that you could see the pulp? Which is basically the thing right before the root and the vet said he needed to get put under and get the tooth extracted.

So he went in for this minor surgery and everything went great. But when we picked him up, we could tell he was definitely out of it. Which is expected after coming out of anesthesia. It was really heart breaking though because he whined for 48 hours straight, non stop. I didn't know if he was in pain, just really loopy and out of it or both. I just held him and gave him lots of love. It was so scary and I cried a lot those few days. It's just sad because as a human, it's your responsibility to give a voice to your pet and it's tough when you don't know what exactly is wrong.

I know most people think I'm crazy, but Harley is my #1 priority in life and I'll do anything for him. After those 2 days he finally started to act normal but we had to leave for California and that was another reason I was so stressed. My mom watched him and said he improved every day and by the time we got home, he seemed like his normal self. We've been in and out of the vet a lot recently for check ups and everything looks great. His suture is gone, it's healed great and I am so relived!!
We then headed out to Northern California to see my father-in-law get married. We got to see lots of snow and visit Lake Tahoe while we were there. I'll continue that in another post because I have a lot more pictures.
But overall it was a great trip and a good ending to a busy month.

January Recap

One of my goals was to blog more this year. So far, I'm really proud of how much I've blogged! But I also know that I have a habit of catching some momentum and then stopping. So I figured if I did a recap of each month this year, I'll count it as a success! Basically this will be a round up of all my blurry iPhone pictures (most of which are pictures with Harley haha). I'm starting the January recap a little earlier at the end of December.

After our long road trip across the country it felt really nice to be home in Georgia! We spent the end of December unpacking, seeing my best friends again and spending lots of time with family! My sister Beka and her family came up from Orlando to spend Christmas with us and it was so much fun.
^ The best photo I got of all 3 of us in our Christmas pajamas. Sort of cracks me up, us all trying to squeeze in this tiny mirror haha.
I may or may not have sent half of our Christmas cards out after Christmas... whoops. But I always have so much fun making our cards and this year was one of my favorites!
^ The back where I always do a year in review summary. I'm thinking about making some Christmas cards like this and selling them on Etsy for this next Christmas season. But I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in even buying them? Just something I've been thinking about.
^ How cute is Harley in his ho ho ho bandana?! Ah I love him so much.
My cousins came over and we had a gingerbread house contest. I really love hanging out with my Georgia cousins and I'm grateful for when we all get together!
^ Harley got spoiled big time during Christmas and was on cloud 9 with all his new toys!

My sister left the day after Christmas to head to North Carolina where my brother-in-law's parents live. But Dean forgot his briefcase and they had to make a quick stop at our house when they were heading back to Orlando and it was so fun to see them for another day.
We stayed in for New Years. Kenneth started Ubering to make money while he's been studying and so he went out and Ubered for some of the night. We watched the ball drop at midnight and pretty much called it a night haha. We're super exciting I know.
We celebrated my birthday! We had a fun day exploring Toccoa Falls in north Georgia (I wrote a post about it here)
My dreams came true and it finally snowed!!
Woke up to this winter wonderland and I was so so so happy! It really wasn't that much snow, but I was still ecstatic!
It was also really cold during that week. I remember it was 12 degrees when we took the picture above.
Of course that meant lots of snuggles with Harley :)
We went to Costco to get our tires rotated and when we went to pick up our car, the driver's door handle was cracked in half! At first they tried to say it was just a freak accident and someone must have opened their car door and broke it? But after some digging, we found out that one of the workers had accidentally broken it while they were working on it. We got it fixed and they reimbursed us for it so it wasn't a big deal, just a little time consuming.
We painted my mom's upstairs bathroom... three times...yes you read that right... THREE times. As a Christmas gift, we told my mom we would paint it for her because it hasn't been painted since my sister and I painted it that splotchy blue color like 15 years ago haha. We were trying to paint it this light grey color she picked out but it looked pink/purple once we painted it. So she got another paint color, same thing. Finally on the third time, we found a color that worked. Goodness, talk about a headache haha. I never want to look at paint colors again.
We watched our friends dog Velzy for a few days and Harley was so happy! They are best friends/boyfriend & girlfriend and it's so cute how much they love each other. They snuggle, kiss each other and play the entire time they're together
Of course I loved the extra puppy snuggles too!

That basically sums it up!

On another note...
My heart broke a little yesterday when I realized that all of pictures from my blog posts from most of 2014 and earlier are gone. My worst fear. I love having this place to journal memories and even though the text is still there, I'm so sad that the pictures are gone. I know I have most of the pictures backed up on hard drives, it's just a bummer to not have them in those posts. I know I switched gmail accounts a long time ago and when I was researching, I think that's what deleted them all. It sounds like other people have experienced the same thing. If anyone knows how to restore them please send me all the tips! Where the image should be, now a triangle and an exclamation mark in the middle, pops up.
