Family Visiting Georgia

i'm trying to still play catch up and blog about everything that's happened, so here we go!

over the summer we were lucky enough to have kenneth's sister and her family come visit georgia for a few days. they live in south africa and lucky us, atlanta is always a good layover stop which means we get to see them. i've spent a lot of time with cherice and her family but unfortunately i've never actually met her husband dan. it's always just been bad timing i guess and he couldn't make it to our wedding so i was really grateful we got to spend a few days together in georgia and that i got to finally meet dan.
for their first day we all went to helen, georgia and went tubing down the river. it was so fun and all my nieces loved it!
^^ when i first met kassidy, it was in hawaii and the entire time she would pull kenneth aside and say..."okay! i got it all figured out! so you are going to propose to lauren on the beach at waimea.. oh! and at sunset!!" haha the entire night she just kept telling kenneth her plan for his proposal to me haha.
we would hold on to these rope things to stay connected and spin each other around in them
^^ love miss sadie. she is so funny and loves taking pictures just as much as i do, maybe even more!
we went and ate lunch after tubing and explored the town. helen is an old little german town and it's so fun walking around there, makes you feel like you're in europe... just with southern accents ha.
we spent the evening eating pizza, playing games, hanging out at the pool & hot tub and just catching up!

the next day we all went to the world of coke and drank way too much coca-cola!
^^ us sitting on the american idol couch from back in the day
afterwards we had to drop cherice off at the airport. our nephew kai spent the summer in new york at a camp so sadly he wasn't there. cherice went to pick him up and then come back to georgia before they went back to south africa. but kenneth and i had to go to washington dc for my sisters elopement and so we missed kai being in georgia. we were pretty bummed about it, but glad we still got to hang out with our nieces.
so then we headed to lunch at the varsity with dan and the girls. the varsity is just a classic. the best and worst food there is haha.
we then went for a walk to the roswell mill
we went back to their hotel and said our sad goodbyes. i love hanging out with family and it's tough having them live so far away. but i'm excited it's almost summer time again and in a few months i'll get to see them again!
