Northern California

our last days on the west coast were spent lounging around my in-laws house and spending some fun times with the family. my niece's azzi & quincy are such cuties and we had fun just hanging out with them.
love that azzi loves the camera. i'm grateful for technology and to be able to share these photos with her when she gets older. i love being an aunt so much.
^^ (quincy, kenneth, me, my sister-in-law renee, azzi)
kenneth and i spent a month living out of our suitcase. it was so fun and i would do it again. but it was definitely nice to get back to georgia and sleep in our own bed.

now i am giving myself a high five for blogging about our west coast road trip! i know it's sort of all over the place, but i'm feeling accomplished. if you're reading this, high five to you for getting through it too haha. this is mostly just for me and family because i'm the worst at uploading photos on facebook or emailing them so this is my place to document it all.

The Bay + SF

kenneth & i spent the night at steven's home in the bay area. we spent time catching up and then crashed. the next morning we had breakfast with his family and then headed out to do some exploring with steven and his mom.
we made a stop of the oakland temple, which was closed for remodeling but it was still beautiful to see.
then we headed to san francisco. since i've done the whole san fran tour before it was fun to be more relaxed as we visited the city. we took a trolley car around which i didn't get to do last time so that fun.
we ate an early dinner at this 1950s style diner and shopped around. it was so cold. i could not believe it was july and freezing. it was just fun to hang out with steven and his mom. they were the best tour guides and it's always so nice to have locals show you around so you don't have to worry about the stress of driving and knowing where to get to everything.
we grabbed dessert at the ghiradelli chocolate factory, yummm.
and finished it off with a stroll around chinatown and a drive along the golden gate bridge through some pretty thick fog.
san francisco has become one of my favorite cities and i love visiting. i'm excited because my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are moving here this summer so it'll be fun to visit more.

Utah Summer

so after zion's we headed up to provo, utah for my best friend nichel's open house in alpine. they had it at scotty's house and it was the most beautiful thing ever! they had the waffle love food truck there too so i was in heaven, so yummy.

nichel outdid herself with the prettiest decorations, not to mention how beautiful of a bride is she!? really loved her dress!

we helped clean up afterwards and i just want to have a table of flowers like this in my home always. so pretty.
kenneth hung out for awhile and then i told him to go hang out with his boys so i could get some time with my girls haha. i hadn't seen alexis and nichel since our wedding so it was fun to catch up.
the rest of the week was spent spending half of it with our friends and the other half at my family reunion. my grandparents live in provo along with some of my aunts and uncles so it was fun to see them all.
i really wish alexis and i lived closer. she's the greatest. it was so fun getting to spend the week with her. kenneth and i love being married and he's my best friend. but we both love our best friends too. the best part is that basically all our best friends are best friends. score. we had so much fun hanging out with all of them. and i'm already so so so excited to go to utah this summer for steven's wedding and see them all again! july please get here sooner.
^when you spend 6 weeks with someone in africa, you create a bond that no one will ever understand haha
we had fun hanging out at the pool and watching the world cup.
we also went to mona rope swing one day and saw a lot of people eat it haha.
for the 4th of july we went spent the morning with my family and watched the provo parade and then later we met up with friends and went to a Bee's game and watched the fire work show afterwards.
after a fun filled week in utah we headed to northern california. along the drive you can see the beautiful salt flats and we stopped to take some pictures.
we then embarked on the long drive to the bay area where we were going to spend a couple days with our best friend steven. oh and guess what... on the drive there our car's ac died and we lost our power steering haha. that made for an interesting 12 hour drive...
