MLK // Stone Mountain Sunset

on monday kenneth and i decided it would be fun to hike up to the top of stone mountain. we've done this hike before but i really wanted to do it at sunset time. plus georgia decided to be awesome and gave us a beautiful, sunny, 61 degree day! when it's cold for so long and then you get a 61 degree day, i honestly felt like i could be at the pool tanning haha. it got both of us so excited for spring.
last time we hiked stone mountain was a couple of summers ago and a huge thunderstorm occurred while we were already half way up. seriously, some of the loudest thunder i have ever heard was up there and we were both pretty surprised that we didn't get struck by lightning ha. then on the way down, it was a little slippery from the rain and kenneth completely slipped and ate it. it was honestly the funniest thing of my life. which probably sounds mean but between kenneth and i, i am definitely the clumsy one haha. seriously, nothing embarrassing or anything ever happens to kenneth so when it does, i definitely tease him about it.
it was a little chilly at the top because of the wind but not too bad overall.
all those tiny buildings on the right are atlanta. funny how small the big city looks in comparison to everything.
we saw a guy wearing a he>i sweatshirt! and like the creeper that i am, i took a picture of it haha. makes me miss hawaii so much!
goodness i am so pale. i can't wait for summer haha
^^me: "kenneth does it look like i'm holding the sun?!"
kenneth: "yeah definitely!"
.... ha.... haha.. not quite
monday was martin luther king jr day. being able to sit on the top of the mountain and just look out onto atlanta in the most beautiful array of colors was something. martin luther king jr is seriously awesome. not many people get to spend several college classes studying the words from such a great man. one of the books i read for class was strength to love and it became my favorite book of all time. i read different chapters at a time over and over again. i highly suggest it to everyone.
"darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that"
i cannot get over these colors. i didn't edit any of these photos. it just amazes me how beautiful the earth is.
seriously, the colors!
oh atlanta, how i love you.
