Jekyll Island

kenneth told me to get work off the day before my birthday and to pack a bag for a little getaway. (eek.. lucky me!) kenneth has surprised me a few times, but i'm the worst and over think everything so i almost always have some idea of what his surprises are.. but don't worry, i always pretend like i'm super surprised ha. sorry babe. it's not just for kenneth, but with everyone. i'm just tough to really surprise i guess. unless you're hiding behind the corner getting ready to scare me (gosh, i will scream every time).
but this time, i really had no idea where we were going. no idea, whatsoever! and it was so fun that way haha. we left at 6am and started driving south. i was really hoping we would be going down south to warmer weather because that morning we woke up to a 0 degree windchill in atlanta. so cold. the whole time in the car i would just randomly keep telling kenneth "this is so fun!! i love this!" and he would just laugh and then i would try and get him to tell me where we were going and he would laugh and i would ask again and he would laugh and it became a whole big circle haha. i'm glad he didn't tell me though, it made it so fun.

our first stop was to jekyll island. we just spent the day exploring the island. when we first got out of the car it was snowing!! okay, well not snowing a lot.. more like flurries. but still! i was freaking out. and it lasted the entire day. it was so cold. but we both just loved exploring the island and adventuring together.

you better believe there were a few happy dances on the beach. i just love being by the ocean!
not to brag, but i've got the best husband. love you kenenth!
kenneth and i went out to this one beach and i found this huge shell in the sand. i was freaking out. in hawaii, there aren't many shells. but going diving to find them was one of my favorite things to do and i always felt so proud of the little gems i found. so when i just found this giant shell i was literally jumping for joy and then screaming in pain because my fingers were literally in the process of freezing over from the water.
so proud of my shell haha. little did i know that the next day i would find a lot more shells.
of course i had to take a picture next to my favorite trees. love coming down to the south to see them and all their spanish moss glory.
after spending the day on jekyll island we drove further south and checked into our hotel. we went out to dinner at this cute italian place and ate way too much food. i don't know what it was about this trip, but it was just truly the best and we had so much fun.
