For our last day in California, we went to beautiful Lake Tahoe! I've been to Tahoe a few times, but always in the summer. It was my first time visiting in the winter and it was really pretty!
It was a lot less crowded than it is in the summer and a different kind of pretty with the snow everywhere. We went to Emerald Bay and hiked down to the lake. We've done this hike before and it's a clear path of switchbacks down to the lake. But this time the path was all snow. It was pretty packed down in most parts so it wasn't too hard.
After driving around and stoping every now and then to take in the views, we headed to Donner Lake.
Renee & Dan had snow shoes that they let us borrow and we really wanted to use them. So we were looking for a place that had enough snow.
We only saw 3 other people during this hike so we really felt like we had the lake to ourselves. It was really gorgeous!
^ Kenneth's love note for me haha
All in all, a beautiful day in Northern California! It was nice to have a little date with Kenneth in the gorgeous mountains! This day was definitely a highlight from the trip!
Until next time, California!
