Our Year In Review

as a graphic designer, i was pretty excited to make our christmas cards this year. but i think maybe next year i'll just send out an email and call it good haha. just kidding, we all know i won't. 

i thought it'd be fun to do a little summary of our year on our card. a few things i was going to add but we didn't have room, kenneth and i spent over 150 hours together in the car on road trips. watched 9 shows on netflix (that's almost embarrassing to admit). we watched 8 seasons of house in 8 weeks.... we also watched parks and recs, our favorite, who else is stoked for the final season??

we visited 12 states (california, utah, arizona, nevada, georgia, florida, tennessee, south carolina, north carolina, virginia, maryland, hawaii, & washington dc). it's funny when you look back on the year because just a few weeks ago kenneth and i were saying how boring our lives were and how we wanted to go on an adventure somewhere. and then we thought about everything we've done this year and just laughed. i guess we just have the travel bug.

here's a little recap of 2014

january

celebrated the new year in georgia at the atlanta peach drop. went zip lining for my 22nd birthday (que the taylor swift music). packed my bags and took off on an adventure to tanzania, africa with my best friend, alexis.

february

lived in tanzania, volunteered at an orphanage, went on a safari, climbed the first part of mt. kilimanjaro, went a record of 2 weeks without showering, and had the craziest time ever & left without ever getting malaria. still grateful to be alive. spent the first day back in america with my mom, sister and alexis sight seeing in washington dc.

march

reunited with kenneth after 2 months of long distance! took a spontaneous trip to mexico with kenneth, my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law. saw one of the seven wonders of the world (chichen itza), went mopeding around the island of cozumel, snorkeled in some of the most beautiful water and saw tons of ruins. came home, had a cultural shock from my recent travels. took engagement photos.

june

road trip with kenneth down highway one from northern california to southern california. reuniting with my best friends in southern california. rehearsal dinner. GOT MARRIED ON JUNE 14, 2014! BEST DAY EVER. honeymoon in los cabos, mexico.

july

spent time with family in southern california. road tripped to las vegas, the grand canyon, horseshoe bend, & hiked the narrows at zion's national park. enjoyed a family reunion in utah and spent lots of time with friends hiking, at the pool, mona rope swing, rock climbing and more. headed back to northern california and stopped at the salt flats, and met up with friends in san francisco before flying back to georgia. celebrated 1 month of marriage on tybee island and visiting savannah, ga. had our open house. (july was a busy month!)

august

spent time touring atlanta with our nieces visiting from south africa, went to washington dc and watched my sister elope along the potomac river to her new hubby dean. showed kenneth all of my favorite spots in dc. more braves games. shed a lot of tears as we marked 1 year since my dad passed away.

september

took a big trip down the east coast of florida and stopped in st. augustine, ft. lauderdale and miami to visit potential grad schools for kenneth. i enjoyed soaking up as much time in the ocean. traveled to charleston, sc and visited my aunt and uncle and another potential grad school for kenneth. fell in love with charleston and soaked up our last beach trip of 2014. 

october 

a rough month, filled with lots of ups and downs. but ended it on a high note heading up to north carolina for my sisters formal wedding. and getting to spend halloween with my nephew hayden.

november

saw snow on nov. 1, the same day as my sister's wedding. spent the most relaxing weekend getaway in the blue ridge mountains where we were totally pampered, it was awesome. and soaked up my first fall in 4 years, it was beautiful. went hiking in tallulah gorge & spent the night in a teepee for kenneth's 26th birthday.

december 

celebrated two of my best friends graduating college (way to go grace & david!). celebrated 1 year since getting engaged and 6 months of being married. headed to northern california and spent christmas with kenneth's family. attempted snowboarding for my first time, got to see lots of snow, and enjoy lots of fun family time. celebrated the new year in georgia, the way it all began.

2015 we are ready for you!!
